A Resource Family is someone who fosters. All interested individuals must attend an orientation first. The orientation will include:
- Understanding the vital need for qualified Resource Families
- Learning the realities of foster care
- Expectations the agency has for all Resource Families
- Approval process including complete background check, home inspections, family evaluations, and additional paperwork
- Understanding the agency's and county's policies, procedures and regulations
Anyone 18 and over may apply to become a Resource Family with Rebuilding Lives FFA regardless of gender, race, religion, political affiliation, handicap, marital status and/or sexual orientation.

Orientation/Training.
Prospective applicants will gain a greater understanding of the types of foster children placed, their behaviors, and policies on what is expected of the Resource Family.

Application Materials.
The prospective applicant will be provided with all the necessary paperwork needed to move forward in the process of becoming a Resource Family.

Home Inspection.
An Agency Social Worker will inspect the prospective applicants home to ensure that it is a safe environment and in accordance to the state, county, and agency's policies.

Family Evaluation.
Once all of the above is completed, an Agency Social Worker will conduct a face to face interview and evaluate if the applicant is qualified to be a Resource Family.
